New Summit Behavioral Therapy
Receiving an autism diagnosis for your child can feel overwhelming, emotional, and uncertain. Many families come to us with questions, worries, and hopes for what their child’s future may look like, and you are not alone.
At New Summit Behavioral Therapy, we walk alongside families during some of the most important years of their child’s development. We provide individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children on the autism spectrum in the Eugene/Springfield and Bend areas, in both home-based and clinic-based settings.
We primarily serve young children and accept new clients ages 18 months through 7 years. Children who begin services with New Summit may continue receiving services as they grow, based on clinical need and program availability.
Whether your child is just beginning services or continuing to build skills over time, our goal is to support your child in a way that feels meaningful, respectful, and connected to everyday life. We value each child for who they are and design therapy to support their strengths, individuality, and ways of experiencing the world.
A place where learning feels natural, engaging, and joyful
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and motivated. At New Summit, therapy is designed to be engaging and developmentally appropriate by being built around play, relationships, and real-life experiences.
While our work is grounded in evidence-based practices, our sessions are not focused on forcing children to sit still or perform. Instead, we focus on helping children connect, communicate, explore, and participate in their world in ways that feel natural and achievable for them.
Our programs are designed to build skills that truly matter. Skills that support connection with others, independence in daily routines, and confidence in learning.
Supporting children across early development and beyond
New Summit Behavioral Therapy specializes in early intervention while also supporting young school-age children who continue to benefit from individualized services.
We meet children at their current developmental level and tailor therapy to support growth across areas such as:
-
Functional communication
-
Social and emotional development
-
Play and peer interaction
-
Daily living and independence skills
-
Behaviors that interfere with learning, safety, or participation
Our goal is not to change who your child is, but to support your child in building skills that help them access their world more fully, confidently, and independently.
A thoughtful, individualized approach
Every child at New Summit receives a personalized treatment program developed through assessment and collaboration with families. We take time to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, routines, and priorities.
Programs are developed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and are designed to be:
-
Developmentally appropriate
-
Responsive to your child’s interests and motivation
-
Embedded into everyday activities and routines
-
Guided by ongoing data and clinical review
As your child grows and makes progress, goals are updated and expanded to reflect new skills, emerging needs, and meaningful next steps.
We value childhood—while supporting meaningful progress
We believe early intervention is important. We also believe childhood should still feel like childhood.
At New Summit, our approach balances structured teaching with natural, play-based and relationship-focused learning opportunities. Children are encouraged to move, explore, laugh, and engage while learning skills in ways that feel motivating and supportive.
We focus on creating a learning environment where children feel successful, celebrated, and understood.

For families who would like a clearer overview of how ABA therapy is delivered, the chart below provides a brief summary.
ABA is composed of:

Evidence Based
We are committed to using only evidence-based practices that have been proven to be effective in the field of ABA. Our treatment approaches are grounded in research and clinical best practices to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and families we serve.
Early Intervention
We specialize in early intervention, providing services to children ages 18 months to 7 years with an autism diagnosis. Our focus is on offering tailored, evidence-based treatment to help children develop essential skills during these formative years.
Intensive
ABA is an intensive therapy designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Therapy hours are customized, with services typically ranging from 5 to 35 hours per week, depending on the child's specific needs.

Online Data Collection
Each learner will have an individualized treatment plan with specific goals. Progress for each goal will be monitored through electronic data collection, which allows for ongoing analysis and adjustments as needed throughout therapy.
Naturalistic
Utilizes ABA principles within the learner's natural environment, integrating therapy into everyday occurrences. This approach promotes the generalization of skills and encourages natural skill development by applying learning in real-life situations.
Discrete Trial Instruction
DTT is a systematic instruction style within ABA that breaks down skills into smaller, repetitive steps to facilitate learning. Each step is taught individually, with clear instructions, prompts, and reinforcement to help the learner master the skill.
