New Summit ABA Services
Who We Serve
New Summit Behavioral Therapy provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children on the autism spectrum in the Eugene/Springfield and Bend areas.
We primarily accept new clients ages 18 months through 7 years. Children who begin services with New Summit may continue receiving services as they grow, based on clinical need and program availability.
New Summit primarily serves children whose needs can be safely and effectively supported within home- and clinic-based settings. Children with high-intensity self-injurious or aggressive behaviors may be referred to other providers or community resources that are better equipped to meet those needs.
Home-Based Therapy
New Summit provides one-to-one home-based therapy, where a therapist works directly with your child in the comfort of your home. A variety of teaching and intervention strategies are used to support learning in an engaging and meaningful way.
Families are asked to have a quiet space available with a table and chairs to support focused learning when appropriate. Sessions may also take place in other areas of the home and incorporate play and everyday routines.
An adult (18 years or older) must be present in the home for the duration of therapy. Active participation by the adult is not required throughout the session. Home-based services may be scheduled alongside clinic-based services when appropriate to support generalization across settings.
Clinic-Based Therapy
New Summit offers clinic-based ABA services in a structured, center-based setting designed to feel similar to a school-day routine. Families drop off and pick up their child at the scheduled session times, and a parent or guardian is not required to remain on site during services.
Clinic sessions follow a consistent daily structure and provide opportunities for individualized instruction, play-based learning, and structured activities within a supportive and developmentally appropriate environment.
A key benefit of clinic-based services is the opportunity for children to practice and build social and peer interaction skills in a supported setting. When clinically appropriate, children participate in structured peer activities that allow them to practice communication, play, cooperation, and social engagement with other children.
Clinic-based services may also be paired with home-based services to support consistency and generalization of skills across environments.

Community Based Therapy
Community-based therapy may be offered based on a child’s individual needs and insurance authorization. These services take place in real-world environments where socially meaningful skills can be practiced and supported.
Examples may include working on safety skills in public settings, navigating playgrounds, or building flexibility and independence across community routines. Community-based services are typically introduced after a child has demonstrated progress and consistency with targeted skills in the home or clinic environment.
Family Guidance
Family guidance is an integral part of your child’s treatment.
Parent and caregiver consultations may occur with or without the child present, based on family preferences and clinical needs. Family guidance sessions are typically scheduled one to two times per month, depending on clinical need and family priorities.
During family guidance sessions, caregivers receive education on ABA principles, review their child’s progress, discuss current developmental or behavioral concerns, and receive individualized strategies to support learning and skill use across daily routines and environments.
Telehealth (Limited Use)
New Summit may utilize telehealth only for clinical supervision and family guidance services, when clinically appropriate and authorized by insurance.
Telehealth is not used for direct therapy services. All direct treatment is provided in person through home-based, clinic-based, or community-based services.
Telehealth may be used on a limited basis to support:
-
BCBA supervision and clinical oversight, and
-
family guidance sessions, including for families who are outside of our in-person service areas.
All telehealth services are determined on a case-by-case basis based on clinical need and authorization.
Service Hours
Services are available Monday through Thursday, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Fridays are reserved for staff training and make-up sessions.
Therapy schedules are arranged on a weekly basis and depend on staff availability. Please note that after-school and evening time slots are in highest demand and may have a longer wait.
New Summit provides services using a consistency-based, intensive model. Families should expect a minimum of four therapy sessions per week, which typically equals approximately 8–11 hours per week, unless otherwise determined by the supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Sessions are scheduled in consistent block formats to support learning, routine, and continuity of care.
