Courtney Riedel, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Courtney is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who joined the New Summit team in 2023. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Eastern Oregon University, followed by earning her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Pepperdine University. Courtney was recently accepted into the Special Education Ph.D. program at the University of Oregon and will begin pursuing her doctoral degree in Fall 2025 (Go Ducks!).
Courtney believes that children learn best when they are having fun! She is passionate about creating naturalistic, play-based learning opportunities that teach social, communication, and daily living skills. Courtney promotes the development of autonomy in learners by using a variety of evidence-based methods, each tailored to help leverage the child’s individual strengths against any challenges they may face. Additionally, Courtney views the treatment process as a collaborative effort between the learner, their family, and other members of the treatment team. As the parent of two children on the autism spectrum, she understands many of the day-to-day challenges our families encounter. Therefore, Courtney approaches the treatment process from a compassionate perspective and seeks frequent input from the learner’s family to help set realistic and impactful goals.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her friends and family, taking photos of wildlife, and volunteering in her local community. She also likes engaging in behavior analytic research, reading journal articles, listening to podcasts, and travelling to attend conferences.
